ChiChi’s Preview & Prediction for Venus Williams v. Kim Clijsters

This is a tough one. When both players are locked in, not missing and letting it fly they are both so very dangerous. I am going to assume that this will be the case in this match, but lets discuss some other scenarios. If Kimmy is a bit off and Venus is on , advantage Venus. If the opposite is true, advantage Clijsters. If they both play well or both do not my pick is Clijsters.  Athletically they are pretty comparable. They can make adjustments in the wind rather equally so I dont see an advantage there for either player on a shot by basis, but when you keep adding the hundreds of shots they are going to be blasting at each other I will go with the player with the better overall technique. Venus sometimes relies too much on her athleticism and get sloppy with her strokes and footwork, Kim does not. Her Forehand is technically as perfect as can be. Its compact and it penetrates on this medium fast hard court like no other. I think Venus will be presented with many penetrating shots to contend with that will break her down technically and cause her to go on a error spree that will open the window for Clijsters and allow her to advance to a re-match with the Dane. Clijsters wins 64 76.

Prediction: Clijsters over Williams 6-4, 7-6.
