John Isner, Brooklyn Decker (aka Mrs. Roddick) At Last Night’s ESPY Awards in Los Angeles
American John Isner accepted an ESPY award for ‘Best Record Breaking Performance’ of the year for his part in the ‘Longest Match in Tennis History’ against Frenchman Nicolas Mahut. Both men dueled it out for over three days and a total of 11+ hours on the court in last month’s Wimbledon. The 70-68 final set is a record that probably won’t ever be broken. Both men deserve the attention for their outstanding efforts on the court as well as their commitment to bringing attention to the sport in the main stream media.
Mrs. Roddick cheered loudly as Isner accepted his award and it was great to see that the support was their from her. If you remember during the match at Wimbledon, Andy Roddick bought dinner for Isner’s entire entourage in the second night of the match and he had the food delivered to Isner’s temporary residence in the Wimbledon village. It was great to see the Americans support each other then and it was great to see Brooklyn Decker genuinely happy for Isner when accepting the award. Enjoy the photos!
