ROLAND GARROS: RELIEF!
Roger Federer came back from two sets down to defeat German Tommy Haas 6-7(4), 5-7, 6-4, 6-0, 6-2. The key point of the match came at Federer serving 3-4 in the third. He faced a break point that could’ve sealed the end of his 2009 Roland Garros campaign, but a brilliant inside-out forehand boosted the Swiss’ hopes and that momentum completely turned the match around. He rode that confidence to the finish line and secured himself a quarterfinal match with the winner of the Gael Monfils and Andy Roddick round of 16 match later today. Bottom line for Federer is that he moves on, but how long can he survive his inconsistencies? Champions have a way of working these things out let’s see if Federer can pull the rabbit out of the hat.
