Maria Sharapova does it again defeating Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Sharapova willed herself to victory once again closing the match out in convincing fashion. She shrieked and whaled her way through the match, putting every ounce of physical and mental effort through her pounding ground-strokes.  She’s still not playing at the top of her game, but who cares.  Tennis is more than just hitting the ball and Maria is proving that right now.  Her competitive spirit is overshadowing her sloppy play.  If she can get her tennis to follow her mind she may have chance at going much deeper in this tourney than many thought.  Next up is Na Li of China whom Maria is 4-0 lifetime, however, this will be there first meeting on clay.
